About Us - ORPT - Occupational Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy, Arizona

Physical Therapy Network Real Costs:
Many Physical Therapy Networks promise a reduction in cost per visits, in some cases these promised discounts on paper look very advantageous. In some cases the individual therapist performing the service for the network use these patients as leverage for more referrals from other specialists. It is not uncommon that a Network P.T. will offer to refer a patient to a specialist and use that referral as a means to gain more referrals from that Physician. This can create a problem when the treating Physician does not feel that referral is warranted.

Other Costly Factors:
A good Occupational Health Physician relies on concise and timely information from a Physical Therapist about a patient. If that information is not available, or is unreliable the Occupational Health Physician is unable to use all the tools at hand to determine a patient’s ability to increase function or return to full duty. Therefore cases will go on longer than usual, this comes with a huge cost to the employer and to the patient. MBI and ORPT have committed to working in concert with each injured patient to bring about the best resolution in the timeliest manner. As such each Physician and Therapist coordinates and manages each case with one uniform and consistent voice. This brings our patients to discharge faster while controlling the costs for our customers.

Who performs these services?
In many cases patients seen by Network Physical Therapist or more frequently treated by Techs or Aides for the vast majority of their visits. The low flat fee per visit creates a situation that prevents a Physical Therapist from being hands on with each and every patient at each and every visit. At ORPT our Therapists provide one on one care to each individual patient, thus giving Therapists first hand knowledge of the patients case. This philosophy alone lowers the total number of visits per case. It also provides the Physician with better and more timely information on the patient’s abilities and progress.
